Corn Flake Cookies/Bars

The Monday after the tornado we had a bunch of guys coming over to help us clean up our yard so I thought I needed to quick make up some bars so I could feed them coffee time.  This was one of them that I could whip up quick.  It's one of my families favorite bar so they don't last long around here.

1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1 1/2 sticks softened butter
Place in a large deep pan and boil rapidly for 1/2 minute.
Remove from heat and add:
1 1/2 t. vanilla
1 1/2 c. chunky style peanut butter
Stir in 10 cups Corn Flakes (or Special K) breakfast cereal and coat well.  Spread in large buttered cake pan.
