Cream Puff Dessert

Josh turned 13 on Friday but due to a sick brother and a concert at school that night his birthday didn't go as he planned...especially for turning 13.  He had requested this dessert for his birthday treat so our friends who came over last night got to enjoy it with us.

This is the "ball".

This is what you get after adding the eggs.

The base after it has been baked.

The finished product.
The chocolate is optional.
Most of my family does NOT like the chocolate but I sure do!
1 stick butter or margarine
1 cup water
1 cup flour
4 eggs
1 (6 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
3 cups milk
8 oz. cream cheese mixed with 1/3 cup sugar
8 oz. cool whip
Hershey's syrup

Boil butter or margarine in 1 cup water.  Add flour and beat hard until it forms a ball.  Add eggs, one at a time.  Spread in 9x13" pan that has been sprayed with Pam.  Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.

Blend pudding with milk and add softened cream cheese.  Let stand 15 minutes.  Spread over cooled crust and top with cool whip.  Drizzle small amount of Hershey's syrup over cool whip.  Top with shaved chocolate, slivered almonds and/or bananas.  Refrigerate several hours.
