These little treats taste just like the Dutch bakeries' recipe. Josh always requests these treats to take to school for his class Christmas party or birthday treats. They are easier to make than it looks.
2 sheets Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Sheets
Thaw sheets 20 minutes. Open sheets and press out creases slightly with rolling pin. Cut down crease line forming 3 strips. Cut each strip into 6 pieces. Spray cookie sheet with Pam and place strips on it. Mix 1 egg and 1/4 c. milk. Brush over top. Sprinkle on rock sugar or plain sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet.

1 c. milk
1/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
1 t. almond flavoring
1/2 c. real butter
1/2 c. Crisco1/2 t. salt
Combine milk and flour. Cook until thick. Stir constantly. Let cool. Add remaining ingredients and beat until fluffy (10 minutes). Split pillows in half. Spread filling on bottom of pillow and close with top half. These freeze well.
