Do you love peanut butter and chocolate...together? I do! It's probably one of my favorite combinations. If you love it like I do, you will love this cookie recipe. These cookies come out soft and have a great flavor and texture. The peanut butter/chocolate ratio is perfect. I usually double the recipe and use 1 whole package of chocolate chips.
1/2 cup butter, softened1/2 cup peanut butter (I used creamy but if you like chunky...go for it)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. baking powder
1 egg
1/2 t. vanilla
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 to 1 T. milk (add this to the very end just to make dough smooth and creamy)
1/2 to 1 cup milk chocolate chips (depends on your preferred chocolate needs)
In a large mixing bowl beat butter and peanut butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda and baking powder. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. (I do 1/2 at a time). Stir in any remaining flour. (Do other 1/2). Add milk. Add chocolate chips and mix until just incorporated. If necessary, cover and chill dough about 1 hour or until easy to handle. (I don't do this). Preheat oven to 375*. Drop cookies onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until bottoms are light brown. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool. Makes about 36 cookies.
